I was skeptical. "Why do you need a doula," I asked my daughter? Women have had babies forever and get along fine."

"I'm scared," she replied.

Aren't we all! My daughter, Jennifer was adamant. "I need a doula!" "D" day arrived. Jennifer was in active labor when I arrived at the hospital. My son-in-law as requested had phoned the doula. She arrived quickly, entering the room like a breath of sunshine. Her smile was warm, her voice pleasant and reassuring. My daughter's eyes were focused on the woman who stood tall and confident, Stefany Mills. I found myself responding to her warmth and strength. She moved close to my daughter and took her hand, smiling into her eyes. Stefany carefully explained her purpose. She encouraged Jennifer during each contraction with instruction for focus to ease the discomfort. In addition, she used aroma therapy along with massage that induced incredible calm to Jennifer along with all of us in the room. Stefany moved to alleviate every pain, fear and concern with ease and results. As the pain increased, Stefany included a CD that instructed in the most peaceful way correct progression for successful childbirth. Everyone in the room grew calm and peaceful with the effect evident in the acceptance of my daughter, Jennifer. Stefany's touch through massage continued and gave amazing anesthetic effect. Jennifer was able to respond to prompts to push appropriately with trust in this doula's knowledge and ability. She worked with the nurses and doctor. A lovely baby girl came forth into the world with a minimum of emotional trauma, thanks to Stefany Mills. As a retired, registered nurse, I can't praise Stefany enough. She is not only skilled in her vocation, she is passionate and caring. Thank you so much Stefany!

Having Stefany as my doula is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was my 2nd child...my first labor had been very long, but was fairly easily manageble and the delivery was a breeze. I expected the same the next time around, but the delivery was much more difficult. Stefany stayed in the birthing tub with me for hours and hours, until the water was ice cold and she was blue int he lips. I had no idea, of course, since I was laboring, but I do believe she was practically hypothermic by the time we were finished. I was nervous about having someone other than my husband there for the most intimate of experiences, but now I can't imagine how I did it without her the first time around. My son was born naturally, in the water. He was huge for a person of my stature (9lbs, 2 oz, 14.5" head and chest) and had shoulders that were so large they were about the size of a 6 week old's. Had I not had Stefany's help, and a midwife who was awesome, I would surely have ended up with a different birth outcome. Thanks, Stef!

Stefany was the key to my successful labor and delivery. This was my first pregnancy and I was scared to think of giving birth after hearing many horror stories. I did some research to know what my options were and decided that having a doula was the best thing to do. I interviewed many doulas and Stefany stood out among them all due to her caring demeanor as well as her professionalism and knowledge.
My instincts regarding her proved to be right as my pregnancy became a very traumatic rollercoaster ride. I had one complication after another. Stefany was so awesome! She was constantly there for me reassuring me and researching information on my particular issues. She always relieved my concerns with her positive attitude and outlook.

However, it was during the actual labor and delivery that her aid truly proved to be a God send! Just having Stefany be in the room was wonderful she helped guide my husband and mom so that they could be a part of the process. My Mom was totally opposed to having her there but was kissing her and hugging her once it was all said and done.

What’s more is what Stefany did for me personally during this time! She was so comforting! She verbally told me what to expect next and what to do at each phase. I don’t know what I would have done without her there. She also messaged my feet for probably five hours with no break! I can not say enough about how wonderful it was to have Stefany as a doula!!!! She is one of the kindest and most selfless people I have ever met!!! Thank you so much Stefany! I will see you at my next birth for certain!
